Frequently Asked Questions:
1) Are you certified?
Yes! I am "ordained" by American Marriage Ministries. I chose this Ministry because their beliefs are also my beliefs:
American Marriage Ministries is a non-denominational, interfaith Church. Our mission is to ensure that all people have the right to perform the spiritual act of marriage. We ordain those of all religious beliefs and philosophies that agree to our three core tenets:
- All people, regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation, have the right to marry.
- It is the right of every couple to choose who will solemnize their marriage.
Primarily SE Wisconsin and Northern Illinois, including: Milwaukee, Madison, Elkhart Lake, Lake Geneva, Deerfield, Highland Park, and all places in-between!
3) What do we need when applying for our Marriage License?
First off, you both need to be present to apply for a marriage license. You apply at your local County Courthouse. Click on the County Courthouse tab above.
I co-ordinate that with the bride and groom. (Ok, mainly the bride!)
Sometimes I'm asked to match the colors of the wedding, sometimes the request is for a robe (black or white). It is your day, whatever you desire is fine with me.
5) Do you attend our rehearsal?
Yes, I will attend and facilitate your rehearsal. There may be an additional fee.
Most larger weddings have a rehearsal the day before the ceremony. Intimate ceremonies usually rehearse moments before the ceremony begins.
6) Can you help us write our vows?
Yes! There are many options that we can discuss to customize and make them uniquely your own - anything from formal to whimsical!
